Julianna has a passion for youth development and civic engagement -mentoring for Sponsor a Scholar, facilitating youth empowerment workshops and volunteering for many local organizations and initiatives. She grew up in Schenectady and spent many of her adult years working for Girls Incorporated, giving back to the community that invested in her. Strong ties to Schenectady drives her enthusiasm for being a part of its revitalization efforts, while ensuring it maintains authenticity and provides unique opportunities for urban communities. She graduated from SUNY Albany with her Bachelors in Communication and Rhetoric and is currently working on her Masters in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology. In her current role as a Community School Site Coordinator she has the ability to create unique opportunities that are provided to local families and students. She is confident that Carver Community Center will bring back a much needed sense of unity and community to the Hamilton Hill area and she is excited to be a part of the development.
